Apple Pie Donuts - The Lunchbox Snack That Feels A Little Bit Fancy 🍎✨

If you’re looking for a fun lunchbox idea that feels a little special without adding heaps of extra prep to your week, these Apple Pie Donuts are such a good one to save.

They’re warm, crispy, cinnamon-y and perfect for cooler mornings, after-school snacks or popping into the lunchbox for a sweet little surprise.

We recently packed these into the B.Box Bento Lunch Box and honestly… they fit perfectly for school lunches.

They look impressive, but they’re actually super simple to make with just a few ingredients.

Ingredients

• 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
• 2 apples
• 1 egg
• Cinnamon sugar (or cinnamon + brown sugar mixed together)
• Optional: melted chocolate or caramel drizzle for serving

Method

1. Preheat your oven to 200°C and line a baking tray with baking paper.
2. Slice the apples into rings and carefully remove the centre of each slice.
3. Cut the puff pastry into thin strips.
4. Wrap the puff pastry strips around each apple ring until covered.
5. Place onto the baking tray.
6. Brush with whisked egg and sprinkle generously with cinnamon sugar.
7. Bake for around 18-22 minutes or until golden and crispy.
8. Allow to cool slightly before packing into the lunchbox.
